Call for entries: Brujeria / Ghost Story competition
Original spooky short stories wanted, fiction or non-fiction, on the theme of ghosts and/or witches. Entry fee is $5.00 per short story. Entries must be received by October 1, 2006 and will be judged by a committee of writing instructors. The winning entry will be read at the opening reception for the "Whoa... That's Spookie" art show, Friday, October 13th at Vital Arts Gallery, and the top three stories will be available for viewing/reading at Las Vegas Arts Council's Halloween Masquerade Party on October 28th at Vital Arts Gallery. All entries should be 3 to 5 pages typed, double-spaced, with an easy-to-read font size. Please do not use fancy font types or excessively small fonts for this entry. At the top left-hand corner of the first page, type the name of the author, the type of entry (fiction or non-fiction), and the author's address and phone number. Entries will not be returned, so do not send your only copy. Make checks out to Las Vegas Arts Council.

Call for entries: "Whoa... That's Spookie" Art Show
Entry fee is $20 for up to three pieces of the miraculous, the eerie, the bizarre, and the fairly ridiculous. Artwork accepted must be framed and ready to hang with wire. Entries must be delivered by October 1st to Vital Arts Gallery. Show will be juried with cash prizes. Opening reception is scheduled for Friday, October 13th. The show will hang during Las Vegas Arts Council's Halloween Masquerade Party on October 28th.
