Chuck Zimmer, Juror
Juror Chuck Zimmer moved to Santa Fe after living in Memphis, Tennessee. He composes his paintings with his hands and fingers and makes his own paper for his prints, which often are torn then sewn together. “I have always sought to create a truly authentic series of landscapes,” Zimmer says. “My current works are actually buried in the ground, accompanied by various sizes and shapes of cut metal. The moisture from rain, snow, and spring run-off oxidizes the metal and creates an adhesion that “prints” on the canvas. The shapes and colors are determined by my choices of materials, location, and duration of exposure....the outcome is ultimately influenced by the serendipitous forces of nature.”
